Cardiac Insulation Pad

Product Goals
PREVENTS RAPID REWARMING OF THE HEART AND PROTECTS THE LEFT PHRENIC NERVE DURING CORONARY ARTERY BYPASS

The Cardiac Insulation Pad is used during coronary artery bypass and isolates the myocardium from the warmer descending thoracic aorta, liver and surrounding pericardial tissues.

Assists in reducing the frequency of injury to the left phrenic nerve during topical cooling of the heart.

Technical Data
The myocardial temperature should be kept below 20° C, while the patient's temperature may be 30° C or higher.
Cooling of the myocardium may be achieved by placing an icy slush between the heart and the cardiac insulation pad.
The tape attached to the cardiac insulation pad is to facilitate the removal of the pad.


Materials
All materials used in the manufacture of the cardiac insulation pad have been biologically and chemically analyzed to current ISO standards and approved for use in the manufacture of this medical device.

CE marking is carried out in accordance with the Medical Device Directive 93/42/EEC.

Sterilization by Gamma Irradiation in an ISO approved facility to current ISO/EN standards.
